EV Charging Points in Gosport
Gosport Borough Council is rolling out electric vehicle charge points across its seafront and town-centre car parks. Here's where to find them, plus how to check live availability.
Council car park charging
Gosport Borough Council has started rolling out EV charging points across its car parks. Charging is already available at Walpole Park Car Park, with a wider deployment programme covering Marine Parade Car Park, Beach Road Car Park, No. 2 Battery East Car Park, Green Lane Hardway Car Park, No. 2 Battery West Car Park and Pebble Beach Car Park — several of them right on the Stokes Bay seafront.
Who's installing them
The council's rollout is being delivered with Believ, an EV charging infrastructure provider, as part of a wider council programme to expand charging capacity across the borough. Check the council's Sustainable travel page for the latest confirmed locations, since more car parks are being added to the programme over time.
Other charging options nearby
Beyond the council network, charge points are also provided by supermarkets, pubs and service stations across Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent — for example at the Lee-on-Solent Service Station. The fastest way to find every charger near you, with live status and connector type, is Zap-Map, which pulls together the council, supermarket and forecourt chargers in one map.
Charging at home
If you live in a flat, rent your home, or are a landlord considering installing a charger, the Government provides grants to support the cost of home and workplace charge point installation — check current eligibility and grant amounts on GOV.UK before assuming what you're entitled to, as scheme rules and funding levels change.
On-street charging
Hampshire County Council is separately rolling out on-street residential charging points across the county, which is worth checking if you don't have off-street parking at home.
