Libraries & Post Offices in Gosport
Gosport's libraries are run by Hampshire County Council, alongside two independent community libraries at Elson and Lee-on-the-Solent. Here's where to find them, plus the borough's Post Office branches.
Hampshire County Council libraries
Libraries across Gosport Borough are run by Hampshire County Council, not the borough council. The main branch is the Gosport Discovery Centre, on High Street, Gosport, PO12 1BT — check current opening times on its Hampshire County Council library finder page before you visit, as hours can change.
Bridgemary Library is at 74 Brewers Lane, Bridgemary, Gosport, PO13 0LA, and runs a part-time schedule — confirm current hours on its Hampshire County Council page since library opening times are reviewed periodically.
You can search the full catalogue, renew books and see all Hampshire libraries via the Hampshire library finder.
Independent community libraries
Gosport also has two community-run libraries that sit outside the county service, offering additional local access:
Elson Community Library and Hub, at 136 Chantry Road, Elson, Gosport, PO12 4NG, also runs a toddler group on Monday and Thursday mornings.
Lee Hub, the independent community library in Lee-on-the-Solent, is at 14 High Street, Lee-on-the-Solent, PO13 9BZ, and also runs free kids' clubs — check its own notice board or Facebook page for current opening times and events, since as an independent community venture its hours can vary from the county library pattern.
Post Office branches
Gosport has several Post Office branches serving different parts of the borough. The main town-centre branch is at 132 High Street, Gosport, PO12 1DU. Bridgemary Post Office is at 176-180 Nobes Avenue, Gosport, PO13 0HY. In Lee-on-the-Solent, branches are at 119-121 High Street, PO13 9BU, and Unit A, Anstice Court, Twyford Drive, PO13 8AT. There's also a branch at 136 Beauchamp Avenue, Gosport, PO13 0LJ, and one at 5-7 Rowner Road, Grange, Gosport, PO13 9UB.
Always check current opening hours and services (some branches offer full banking and passport services, others a reduced counter) on the Post Office branch finder before a special trip, since hours and services can change branch by branch.
